The paid report

Your CollegeClearly Report

You may not know us yet. That's okay.

The CollegeClearly Report is designed for undergraduate college planning.

CollegeClearly is built to help families understand the financial side of college. Our free tools are here for you to use whether you ever buy anything from us or not.

If you'd rather not do all of the deeper research yourself, we'll take up to five colleges your family is seriously considering and do the financial homework around your student's situation.

You get one Report that pulls the financial picture for those colleges together in one place.

$99 for up to 5 colleges. One updated report is included when your actual award letters arrive, so you can replace estimates with the offers you received. No account, no subscription.

How the report works

CollegeClearly builds a personalized four-year financial picture for each college you're considering.

You give us: up to five colleges and what you know about your student and family's situation today.

We do the work: We go through each college one by one. We read what the college itself publishes about its cost, its residency rules, its merit scholarships and the requirements to receive and keep them, and any other policies that can change what your family actually pays. Then we apply your family's numbers, build the four-year picture, identify what is known versus what still depends on an award or an assumption, and map out what may be left to cover and where that money could come from.

You get: one Report covering all of them. For each college, you'll see the four-year picture, whether the plan closes and, if it doesn't, the first year it breaks, a written explanation of what's driving each verdict, the assumptions behind every figure, and the questions to answer before your family commits.

Want to do it yourself? You can.

CollegeClearly's free tools do real work on their own. Families can use them to explore and compare colleges without paying us anything. The Report is for families who would rather have us do the deeper homework and pull the pieces together for them.

What you are buying

What arrives in your Report.

1
What each college requires from your family

Four-year totals for what comes from income, what comes from savings or a 529, what the student would borrow in federal Direct loans, what a parent would borrow in Parent PLUS, and what would still be unfunded, with the first year the gap appears.

2
A Financial Path for every college

Closes within the federal loan limits, closes only with your stated savings, or does not close under current assumptions. A path that closes is not a claim that the college is inexpensive; the report says what closing costs.

3
What to do next, in order

Every dated item first, then the largest unknowns, then published chart moves within reach, then what to confirm in writing before a deposit. Where a plan does not close, a funding map lists what exists to cover the remainder, with private financing last and no lender named.

How the numbers are labeled

Five tags. No estimates dressed up as facts.

Published

Comes from a college, federal, or state source.

Approved

Comes from an actual award letter.

Modeled

Calculated from the information available to your Report.

Stated

Comes directly from information your family provides.

Unknown

Cannot be known reliably yet, so CollegeClearly identifies it as Unknown rather than filling the gap with an assumption.

What it is not

Not advice. Not a prediction. Not a referral.

The report does not tell you where to go, does not predict your financial aid, and does not recommend a lender or any borrowing. Competitive merit awards are never converted to expected dollars. Where a college awards aid on need alone, the report says plainly that the figure shown is the shortfall under currently known inputs, not what you would pay.

No college, lender, or partner has any say in what the report contains.

What to have ready
  • Your student: graduation year, GPA (unweighted and weighted if you have both), ACT or SAT scores, home state, intended major.
  • Your family: what you can pay from income each year, savings or 529 available for college, any awards already in writing.
  • Your colleges: up to 5, with the residency each will apply and the living plan.

About ten minutes. You can leave and come back; your draft stays on this device until you submit it.

Your updated report

When the actual offers arrive, come back with your award letters and we'll update your Report once using the actual offers. Included in your purchase.

Gift aid from the offer becomes an Approved figure that outranks the published chart. Loans and work-study in the offer are shown, never subtracted from the commitment. Colleges without an offer keep the pre-offer analysis, so you can see all five on one basis.
