Aid covers tuition, fees, housing, and food for most families with assets typical of that income level.
Aid covers at least full tuition.
Aid covers at least half tuition.
Notre Dame is need-blind in admission for all students, including international applicants, meets 100% of demonstrated financial need, and packages aid as grants and scholarships rather than loans. Admission comes with a four-year aid commitment.

Published tuition and cost of attendance shown at the top of this page are the University of Notre Dame's 2026–27 published figures, as posted by the Office of Student Accounts and the Office of Financial Aid. Tuition is $69,280 and mandatory fees are $514, for a combined $69,794 in direct tuition and fees. Cost of attendance is Notre Dame's estimated total annual amount for an undergraduate, adding housing and food ($18,992), books and supplies ($1,250), personal expenses ($1,200), and transportation ($750). The income-tier statements shown in the section above are Notre Dame's own current published aid policy, as posted on the Office of Financial Aid's Costs & Affordability page. The tier structure was announced March 18, 2026 as part of the Pathways to Notre Dame initiative, launched by University President Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., in 2024. "Assets typical of that income level" means Notre Dame's aid formulas assume the family's assets are within the range typical for that income; families with atypical assets — such as substantial investment holdings, business ownership, or non-primary real estate — may receive different aid packages than the tier statements suggest, though Notre Dame still commits to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need. Retirement accounts are excluded from asset calculations. Notre Dame is need-blind in admission for all applicants including international students, has met 100% of demonstrated financial need for admitted students for three decades, and since 2025 has packaged aid as grants and scholarships rather than loans. More than 70% of Notre Dame undergraduates receive some type of financial aid.
