These terms cover how CollegeClearly works, what we do with your information, and what you can expect from an optional account and the CollegeClearly Report. Nothing here is legal advice; if you need legal help, please talk to a lawyer.

What CollegeClearly is

CollegeClearly is a decision-support publication. The calculator, Compare, the saved summary, and the college pages are free and always work without an account. They present published information and estimates so a family can better understand a college's financial commitment. They are informational only. They are not financial advice, and they do not tell you which school to pick.

The CollegeClearly Report

The CollegeClearly Report is free, and no payment is collected.

You may request a CollegeClearly Report at no cost. The Report is delivered as a private link that lets you open it from any device. The Report analyzes the specific colleges you gave us against your family's numbers, and includes one free update once your award letters arrive. The Report is not financial advice, does not predict what any specific college will offer, and is not a guarantee of any outcome. If something went wrong with your Report, please contact us at info@collegeclearly.com.

Optional account

An optional account is offered to families who want to keep saved schools, current assumptions, and attached CollegeClearly Summaries in one place. Sign-in uses a one-time email link. There is no password. What is stored in your account is described in our Privacy page. You can close your account from your workspace page at any time. When you do, we remove your saved schools and assumptions, remove any attached CollegeClearly Summaries from the workspace (the Summary rows themselves remain, and any collegeclearly.com/summary/<id> link you already shared continues to work), and unlink any Report from the account. The Report and its private link are retained as a Report record so you can still open it from any email we sent with the link, and so we can maintain records related to the Report.

Acceptable use

Please use CollegeClearly for your family's own decision-making. Do not attempt to scrape, resell, or automate access to Reports, Summaries, or account data belonging to another family; do not sign in to accounts that are not yours; do not attempt to bypass security or rate limits. We reserve the right to disable an account that abuses the service.

Availability, changes, and warranties

We try hard to keep CollegeClearly available, accurate, and up to date, but we cannot promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted. The information here is presented as-is, without warranties. Prices, aid rules, and policies at individual colleges change frequently; always verify the specifics with the college's financial aid office before making a decision. To the maximum extent allowed by law, CollegeClearly is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
